Key People
Victor Kapiyo
Victor is a human rights and ICT lawyer based in Kenya. He is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Commissioner for Oaths and a Notary Public. He has worked in the legal sector for over ten years. His areas of specialization include among others: corporate and commercial law, legal practice, legal compliance, research, arbitration, family law, human rights, human resources, project management, research, monitoring and evaluation, capacity building, strategic planning and public policy. He has a keen interest in leadership, business, governance, Intellectual property, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and social justice.
Victor is an alumnus of the University of Nairobi School of Law (LL.B and LL.M), Strathmore Business School and the Kenya Institute of Management. He is also a member of the Law Society of Kenya, where he serves in its Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Committee in 2018 – 19, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Kenya) and the Internet Society (ISOC). He also serves on the boards of the Kenya ICT Action Network (KICTANet) and Youth Alive! Kenya (YAK).
Stanislaw Karanja
Stanislaw is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Company Secretary (Kenya), Commissioner for Oaths and a Notary Public. He holds an Honours Degree in Law from the University of Nairobi and is currently pursuing an LLM (Corporate & Financial Law) from the same University.
Stanislaw has 12 years’ experience as a law practitioner including in dispute resolution, securities, merchant banking, conveyancing, contract negotiation & drafting, financial services, M&A due diligence work, legal audit, corporate governance, co-operatives law and development finance. He has practised at the frontline of law firm practice for 10 years and as in-house counsel in the telecommunications and banking sectors.
He is also well accomplished in litigation and dispute resolution as well as all-around conveyancing including transfers, sub-division & amalgamation of titles, leases and security perfection. Moreover, he is well accomplished in the provision of company secretarial work, and general practice matters.
Thomas Marwah
Thomas has extensive experience in the legal and commercial fields spanning over 10 years. He is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Nairobi. He also holds a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Kenya School of Law.
Thomas specializes in offering legal, regulatory and commercial advice to business entities and NGOs for purposes of compliance, transactional contracting, conveyancing, private equity investment, equity capital raising, capital structuring, organizational structuring, procurement, and management consulting. He is well accomplished in commercial litigation, conveyancing, alternative dispute resolution and general practice matters. He has previously worked in the insurance and hospitality sectors and brings expertise on business management.
Kelvin Karubiu
Kelvin is a lawyer, tax consultant, chartered accountant and gaming enthusiast, with over 12 years of experience in the legal and finance sector. He is a qualified lawyer with a law degree from the University of Nairobi and attended Strathmore University, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant and is duly registered with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
He has an in-depth understanding of audit, investigation, due diligence, taxation (direct and indirect), tax planning & filing of returns for companies and individuals, transfer pricing and company law matters for both domestic and foreign individuals, management consultancy, and the various other registrations for start-ups under various laws.
Kelvin has a keen interest in venture capital fundraising, project financing, and Information and Communication Technology (ICT). He also has great passion for the various legal systems and how they interact with each other.
Our Fees
We endeavor to provide professional services. Our fees are based on the Advocates (Remuneration) (Amendment) Order 2014. In order to commence work, we usually require a down-payment and thereafter a fee note is sent to our clients. For matters not regulated under the Remuneration Order, we normally charge reasonable fees on a lump-sum or time- expended basis.
